The OpenCore team has been working on different parts.
Adaptation to macOS 13 Ventura developer beta has been the one that has received the most contributions. In addition, new layouts have been added on AppleALC.
OpenCore 0.8.2

Main changes
  • Updated builtin firmware versions for SMBIOS
  • Updated --restore-nosnoop info to avoid breaking sound in Windows or Linux at boot
  • Added injected kext bundle version printing in DEBUG builds
  • Added Linux compatibility for CreateVault scripts
  • Fixes for macOS 13.
config.plist

Nothing to do.

Kexts

All kexts have received support for macOS13.
  • AirportBcrmFixup 2.1.6
  • AppleALC 1.7.3: layouts added, sleep fixes for certain layouts
  • BrcmPatchRAM 2.6.3: improved macOS 12 support
  • CPUFriend 1.2.6
  • CpuTscSync 1.0.9:
  • DebugEnhancer 1.0.7
  • FeatureUnlock 1.0.9
  • HibernationFixup 1.4.6
  • Lilu 1.6.1
  • MacHyperVSupport 0.9: fixes and improvements
  • NVMeFix 1.1.0: improved macOS 12 support
  • RestrictEvents 1.8.0: fixes for real Macs, MacPro7,1 patch for Ventura
  • VirtualSMC 1.3.0
  • VoodooRMI 1.3.5: device updated
  • WhateverGreen 1.6.0: fixes, Intel FAQ updated.

Bad luck for my Z68, but it's not OC, it's one of the updated kexts:
AppleALC-1.7.3-RELEASE.zip
WhateverGreen-1.6.0-RELEASE.zip
VirtualSMC-1.3.0-RELEASE.zip
Lilu-1.6.1-RELEASE.zip
Crashes and reboot quite immediately after the white apple starts. Verbose is not very talkative...
Works ok with the old ones.
I ain't got much time this week to spot which one is the culprit, but I'll let you know.

Updated my Z270 system without the slightest hiccup. I'll give it a go later on my wife's Z77. I might use the SMBIOS update as hers works ok except for Chrome and Firefox no longer working at all (Safari works just fine, though).

And the culprit is... AppleALC-1.7.3-RELEASE, tadaaa!
I'm a bit surprised as it happens at a very early stage in boot. All the other ones seem to work correctly.
EDIT: AppleALC-1.7.2-RELEASE works correctly with Lilu-1.6.1-RELEASE.

Which version of macOS/OS X are you trying these new kexts with ? Is it Mavericks ?

Latest 10.14.6. I haven't tried other OS versions.

You've got that Mojave Mojo going.

I've found that newer OC versions and the latest kexts don't always work on older hardware running macOS versions Mojave and older. Not sure why but often seems best to just stay with older versions that do work rather than being on the latest offered.

You got me this time! It always worked for me until now, but your favourite saying "if it ain't broke..." might be the best solution, in the end. ;)
Dortania always claimed to be fully compatible with old stuff but I guess it will be harder and harder to keep compatibility with them AND the latest OS...
Indeed, I've kept at hand my last months EFIs since OC 0.7.9 just in case.
