Hmmmm. I have several PreSonus components - FireBox & Tube Pre V2 & Inspire - and all work as they should. Me thinks you have other problems.

i have a firebox too, i can even unplug the fw cable during playback and plug it back in without mac/ logic crashing!
imho the best thing about the firebox is its LOUD headphone output which is handy sometimes!

2 years ago I decided to switch to USB from FireWire. Now using RME Babyface instead of Echo AF2. Small and powerful workhorse. Yes, it's a bit expensive but the stability and lower latencies worth it.

my recording setup is Logic Pro X,Commercial and free amp sims,M-Audio BX5 monitors, for years i used a Line 6 UX1 audio card but some weeks ago i bought the scarlett 2i4 and i love it,pretty good audio card.

View attachment 106466I can recommend the MOTU 8Pre- I use the Firewire version, and it works great with Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter. The most common one now is the USB version. Perfect for 8 track XLR no fuss inputs with nice preamps in Logic Pro X.

I considered the MOTU hardware. It has a good reputation. I currently own a Presonus FP10 and it has served me better than my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8r (my first, which fell apart quickly). My main reason for considering the Presonus hardware is the option to chain multiple boxes. I need at minimum 16 channels of input in a small rackmount package for portability.

Hi Stork, can you confirm these interfaces are working as they should on your Hector build ? I am having some terrible FW issues with my new system even though everything else is working great.

I can not say that they are working on Hector as I use my Thunderball system for my recording. Hector doesn't have the capability to have a Firewire interface as I would have to remove my GTX 750 Ti card to install a FW card. So, I can't answer your question WRT my PreSonus components working on a 9-series motherboard/processor system.
