Need help to clear something, does the old ROM from failed imessage fix attempts make any difference? cause ive redone all the steps, all values in the imessage debug have changed besides the ROM. Should i change the rom as well??

Have followed this guide multiple times, and I'm still getting the same error when trying to setup iMessage. Its showing:

Could not sign into iMessage:
An error occurred during activation. Try again

Looking in console, I'm not getting any errors, and my smbios settings are good...

Has anyone successfully fixed this?

hi guys! apple's stuff has changed since this guide was written. after trying a bunch of serial numbers at https://checkcoverage.apple.com I got a different message that might indicate success. it is:

"
Please validate your product's purchase date.
Apple is unable to provide information about your service coverage. Please sign in with your Apple ID and provide your product's date of purchase so that we can display your coverage information."

not an invalid serial. number warning, and not the success message indicated at the beginning of the thread. I'm hoping this is the new success message and am proceeding as such. man, its taken a long time to get a serial number, especially because the site locks you out after a certain number of tries!

I have tried this over and over. Many times on my El Cap and now again after a clean Sierra build. Each time I am able to get to the customer support code screen, and I contact apple support. They try the code, it doesn't work, they run me up the latter a few tiers and in the end they never figure out why it won't activate when they put in the code. I get the same code every time (obviously a new one since the fresh start on Sierra) and I have verified that my machine info is valid on Mac hunter and unregistered on AppleCare. I get the same results on iMessage debug over and over so nothing is changing. Any ideas?

I had a lot of trouble getting iMessage to work on Yosemite. I upgraded to Mac OS Sierra. iMessage was logged in but I was unable to send messages.

I reset the network settings as my ethernet port was not on, rebooted, and was only able to send iMessages. I kept the iMessage window open, send a text, and a prompt on my Mac said that I didn't have Text forwarding enabled. I put in the code and BAM! Y hack is working 100%

THANKS SO MUCH!

Hello folks!
When I try to use the iMessage on my newly made macOS Sierra 10.12 I got an error message saying: Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during the activation. Try again.

The console output from the iMessage says the following:
