Did you install Clover as an EFI Boot or legacy. If you did an EFI install you may need to mount the EFI volume and change the config.plist in the EFI folder there. easiest way is to use clover configurator, go to MOUNT EFI ... Check partitions... make note of the disk/partition number.. then use the mount EFI partition button.

I have a Gigabyte 7 series board (GA-Z77X-UP5-TH) so I used the legacy settings as recommended in the guide here on tonymac86. I used Clover configurator to customize the config.plist in the EFI partition but when I reboot clover seems to ignore the config.plist. For instance I previously had my system profile set as a Mac Pro 3,1 which I copied all the parameters over to clover using clover configurator but Clover injects setting for a iMac 13,2 using different S/N/ROM etc. I don't want to call Apple with these parameters as the ones I have used previously with the Mac Pro worked just fine. I just can't seem to figure out why the config.plist setting are being ignored.

Did a bit of testing yesterday took out my cable and everything, inserted the values.. rebooted 10 times at least.. i can confirm this:

when smUUID field is left blank in Clover (at least on my rig) i have persistent values, on booth ROM,MLB,HW UUID and System-UUID..

When testing after 10 reboots i found out the following:

iCloud works, Facetime logs in, iMessage logs in (no msg sync, can't send or receive iMessage) when paired with my phone i can send SMS, through relay.

There must be something im missing or doing wrong. :banghead:

I had the same problem as you.
I solved it by putting in the values of my real mac in clover config by clover configurator.
I used rom and mlb in Rt Variables and Board Id, Board serial number, serial number and SmUUID in SMBIOS.

Now iMessage and all other iCloud related stuff is working :D

i switched to clover and now this is the error i have, what should i do? shall i contact apple to fix it?

@ergman,

Read the Guide ... your question is answered right at the start ....

Though I disagree with the not polished procedure. Certainly there are more steps, but I don't think it's any harder to understand than Chimera. I migrated to Clover last week so I speak from fresh experience. Not only do you get iMessage working, but I find it's actually provided added stability.

Well, for me, Chimera installation is very simple - all I need to install is only Audio and LAN drivers and that's it - nothing else as everything works out of the box.

The reports of 'Apple are no longer allowing non-legit ID's' is complete rubbish and should be ignored, do not resort to using cloned or leached ID's .. it can only end badly ...

First, thanks for all the work; the guide has been invaluable. I wish I had read the post#1762 before and kept my old Mavericks values. I may try and go back to those IDs. However to get the ROM/MLB to exactly match the debug output of my Air, I had to set both the smUUID to the hardware UUID and the customUUID to the "systemid" obtained from the terminal command and then manually set the ROM with RTVariables.

Right now I'm running on "leached" values from one of my own machines. Is it that bad if you own the Apple hardware you are spoofing?

Let's say i have an MacMini mid/late 2011 if i take my values from that and move them to my hackymac.. won't it say i have MacMini instead of iMac 14,2?? And if so will it impact my hardware setup like not recognizing my 4770K and my GFX card, cause i dont use iMessage on my MacMini i only use it for mediacenter :D

I took the values off my r-mbp which I actively use. I used ROM, MLB, serial, smUUID, and custom UUID. It worked great, though iCloud threw a fit and asked for authorisation again etc. But now everything works as it should and so does on my macbook. Yes, about my mac calls it a macbook but everything else seems correct and speedstep and sleep which I originally struggled to get right didn't break. I think I'm all done with my switch to clover and yosemite.

Same here except I used my Air. I was going to spoof a mini but using the definition MacMini only brought up one GPU and one screen. Everything is just as smooth with it thinking it is an Air as it was when it thought it was a MacPro3,1 under Chameleon.
