I'm sorry, but I wonder if it works well.

If you have any problems please ask me for advice.

Thank you all the time.

Hi kgp, have you updated to the newest Nvidia drivers (378.10.10.10.15.120)? If so can you give a walkthrough on how so I don't get black screen? Everything is working on my hack right now so I just don't want to mess it up.

I'm sorry, but I wonder if it works well.

If you have any problems please ask me for advice.

Thank you all the time.

Perfect ,man! You have a lot of P-States and C3 and C6 cores! Also everything else looks as expected !:clap:

Hi kgp, have you updated to the newest Nvidia drivers (378.10.10.10.15.120)? If so can you give a walkthrough on how so I don't get black screen? Everything is working on my hack right now so I just don't want to mess it up.

1.) Just make a backup of your System Disk with Carbon Copy Cloner before installing the Web Drivers! Also copy the EFI-Folder of the System Disk to the empty EFI-parititon of your cloned Backup- Drive, thus the later is bootable! Thus in case you do not succeed, you can boot with the backup disk and you can clone back the backup drive onto your system disk!

2.) What I did is exactly described in my guide! It perfectly worked for me.. But you know, there is no 100% guarantee that it also will work for you. Anyway.. try to do exactly what I did, and especially in the same order!

I.) a.) "csrutil status" check to ensure that SIP is disabled (0x67)

b.) AGDPFix with CsrActiveConfig = 0x67

c.) Before requested reboot, change of CsrActiveConfig from 0x67 to 0x00.

d.) Requested reboot

II.) a.) Boot with CsrActiveConfig = 0x00

b.) "csrutil status" check to ensure that SIP is enabled (0x00)

c.) Installation of the actual Nvidia 10.13 Web Driver Package

d.) Before requested reboot, change of CsrActiveConfig from 0x00 to 0x67

e.) Requested reboot

III.) Boot with CsrActiveConfig = 0x67

Done! Working Web Driver

Cheers and good luck!

@kgp Just want to say thank you. Following your instructions I got my X99 system up and running (right now at least).

I had some initial issues when booting from the USB drive. But I think what solved the boot issue for me was to disable xcpm_cpuid_set_info. When I did that it booted just fine. It took a while to find out that though. I use a 5820k CPU.

I only had a M2. 950 Pro 512GB NVME drive in the machine when installing, I disconnected other drives. The install went on just fine.

Where I met a roadblock was the installation of the web driver from Nvidia to get the EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC Gaming working. I followed your instructions regarding SIP and AGDPFix. That didn't work, the computer booted to a black screen. (Although it was on, and logged in). I tried SSHing into the machine, remove all files and follow the instructions once more, but no luck.

What solved it for me was to ssh to my "hack pro" from a laptop. Copy over NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext v1.2.0 and Lilu.kext v1.2.0. When those files was copied over I rebooted from ssh and the graphics works fine now. One observation though, although G-sync is possible to activate I think it caused some stability issues. So I have it disabled.

Later on I would like to add the fastest GPU available that is natively supported by macOS. Would that be some of the new AMD Vega cards perhaps?

When talking about the performance I am not sure it is as fast as it could be. When I get home I can attach some benchmark screenshots and we can compare the numbers?

Anyway, take care. And thanks again!

I do not own a Vega Frontier... Therefore I could not perform any benchmark comparison with e.g. my Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce WB 11Gb Extreme Edition. However, what one finds frequently in internet is that not even the Vega Frontier seems to be able to compete with Nvidia's top-end graphics cards regarding the overall performance. If this info is wrong, please provide updated info's if available. Also in terms of a dual boot system with windows, AMD's windows support and performance might not be able to compete with those provided by Nvidia...

There might be experts more suited in providing you respective advices...

Yeah, maybe it is worth the "hassle" to use an Nvidia card.

If this build works fine I plan to use it until Apple release their new Mac Pro.

Hi KGP,

thanks a lot for this thread.

After many hours of trying to boot the USB installer I think it must be a BIOS problem. Boot always stuck at "PCI configuration begin" (still the same since several hackintoshs generations over many years, haha). Tried really a lot of settings, boot parameter, USB Sticks, Ports and so on.

The only difference:
In your BIOS configuration CMS is disabled. I have a GTX 660 TI GPU (similar GTX 680), which is driverless supported by OS X, but not bootable with CMS disabled.

Is there a workaround with CMS enabled and this GPU?

No idea, why don't you change your graphics card? Anyway, did you adapt and install VoodooTSCSync.kext?

Yes, VoodoTSCSync is modified and active. I just dont have any other graphics card to try, UEFI compatible. A Pascal 1060 is about 250 € here in Germany - and I really dont need a faster GPU. If I for shure knew that this is the problem I would buy one.

Do you know which components conflict with CMS enabled? Is there no workaround?
