dear @kgp, I follow you with much enthusiasm and respect.

please, take a look at my EFI.

it seems it works under OC and doesn't break XCPM. I'm on iMAC PRO, 10.13.6 :)

I used the performance patch found here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-ep-cpus-on-10-12.204468/page-24#post-1750829

thank you!

Alright,

I simply adopted your EFI-Folder (just removed CP->PR replacements and Nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext and adopted TSCAdjustReset.kext for the i7-6950X)...

No OC, with the ASUS X99-A II and the i7-6950X....

Could it be a mainboard and BIOS question?

Obviously OC works in your case... hmmm...

BTW you should update the USB port limit patch for 10.13.6 and complete your CP->PR replacements also for all unpopulated cores.. ;)

So, what to do? How to proceed?

I'll update the USB port limit and complete CP PR replacements immediately :)

maybe yes, it could be due to mainboard. about BIOS, I didn't patch it with coderush UEFI. I've uploaded the last firmware (v19 - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X99A-GODLIKE-GAMING) which improves memory and usb compatibility and updates micro code for security vulnerabilities.

as to my case, I first tried those patches under Mac Pro 10.13.5, went good, so I upgraded MP to 10.13.6, tried again and I verified they're working. Under iMac Pro 10.13.5 I could't go with XCPM if I adopted your configuration with Broadwell fakecpuid. and couldn't even start, if I didn't add the xcpm bootstrap kernel patch (instead, changing fakecpuid to haswell and adopting some other kernel patches, worked). That's why I was searching for a solution and I decided to give a try to what worked under MP.

would it be useful if I uploaded bios screenshots? or the boot ones?

I'd be glad if I could help someway :)

if it works here, there must be the way to have it somewhere else... what if you keep your config and just change the performance patch?

Sure, screenshots of your BIOS would provide additional information..

Interesting, that you did not even patch your mainboard BIOS.. Is it locked by factory default? If so, it is even more interesting that your system boots at all, as with locked MSR, xcpm_core_scope_msrs © Pike R. Alpha should be enabled but it is not in your case.

What is weird is that OC works in your case although you do not even use all actual 10.13.6 patches.. If I correctly remember, even the performance patch you are using is for 10.13.5 and not for 10.13.6.

Try to take all actual 10.13.6 patches of @PMheart and verify that OC continues working. Just for curiosity..

BTW, I tried to use your patches and then I tried to use your entire EFI-Folder... No way..

I updated my other post with pictures :)

bios is not locked (CFG lock disabled) and the performance patch is different from the 10.13.5:

I'll look for 10.13.6 patches of @PMheart and check OC, of course :)

But it is weird that our performance patches are that different..

Moreover as you also state @PMHeart as the originator..
