Hey @kgp and friends,

I'm attempting to set up my friends ASUS X99 Deluxe w 5920k onto iMacPro 1,1.
I always make it into the installer, reformat, and everything works fine until after the restart at around 11 min remaining, I keep getting 'macOS could not be installed on this computer... run diagnostics'.

I've tried both 10.13.5 and 10.13.6, I've checked the config.plist extensively including the Broadwell-E performance patch, USB port limit between the 2 OS's I've tried, made and remade the installer USB's, removed hardware, etc. This system does have an NVIDIA GT740, however but I was using nv_disable=1 and then nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext so it seems to be showing fine.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: Removed all but one stick of RAM and it works. Why does this happen? aaaaanyways, never mind!

Normally all X99 Asus can work with the kgp method
i dont know any other person who had problems for it (grey options)

just a question did you flashed the bios with his own method?
also try your install BEFORE to OC

if you want to install Mac OS on a OC system, it is not reliable
try first with basic method then OC ;)

Hello All,
I have an ASUS X99-E Motherboard with an i7-5930K CPU and am attempting to turn this machine into a Hackintosh.
Unfortunately I'm stuck at the first topic - applying the correct BIOS settings. As soon as I try to apply XMP settings for my RAM or set "Sync all Cores" for OC, CPU C3, C6 and Package C State limit BIOS options get greyed out and disabled.
Can I leave C States disabled? Or do I have a crappy Mobo that won't allow OC for a Hackintosh?
Thanks for the reply!

you have the EFI on the HDD/SSD that you try to install on?

SO, THERE IS MY EFI FOLDER FROM MY SYSTEM (10.13.6 (17G65) )

BE CAREFULL, this is for my ASUS X99 Deluxe, with Intel 5820k and Asus Strix Nvidia GTX 980 TI DC3OC, also, if you are suck at the beginning of booting process delete boot argument slide=128 (I've calculated this slide value for stable booting). ALSO MAY NOT WORK IF YOU DON'T PATCH YOUR BIOS (CHECK KGP GUIDE ON PAGE 1 ON HOW TO DO THIS ! )

STEP ONE, BEGINING WITH 10.13.4 FOR ME BOOTING WITHOUT nv_disable=1 and Inject NVidia resulted in black screen, even on clean install, I think it has to do with EFI Strings Injection for VESA DRIVERES found in macos or idk. I've already done my "install/update" settings in this efi folder.

After you successful finished the instalation of macos high sierra, install nvidia driveres, accept the kext when prompted in Security & Privacy and before clicking on reboot on the nvidia install, open clover configurator, uncheck nv_disable =1, Inject NVidia and check Inject System ID & NvidiaWeb. Save the config.plist and click on reboot on nvidia installer. After reboot you should be fine up and working.

Here you have my efi > ASUS_X99_DELUXE_5820_EFI.zip < , if you don't/cant't find the arguments I talk about, check before and after install screenshots available bellow.

Hi guys,
To get a working xcpm I inserted this patch below, found on insanelymac (thanks to cfszs, that managed to find the correct binary file):

Code:
performance fix for 10.13.6 (17G65)

find
C1 E3 08 48 63 D3 89 D0 48 C1 EA 20 B9 99 01 00 00 0F 30 48 FF 05 79 B0 6B 00 48 83 C4 08 5B 5D C3 66 2E 0F 1F 84 00 00 00 00 00

replace
BB 00 FF 00 00 48 63 D3 89 D0 48 C1 EA 20 B9 99 01 00 00 0F 30 48 FF 05 79 B0 6B 00 48 83 C4 08 5B 5D C3 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90
I continued to use, as always indicated by kgp, the FAKECPUID of Broadwell-E: 0x040674
and, to check if the xcpm is active, use the command as proposed by kgp in its great guide: "sysctl machdep.xcpm.mode"
in my case the result is: 1, so everything works properly. Tested, it's working.

The strange thing is that the same code works on haswell-e, and does full oc, same performance as 10.13.5. My concern now is mojave.
