Have you updated the BIOS to the latest version?
Gigabyte offered two updates this year for the Intel problems, the first used to cause reboots, the last works well.
For Z370 HD3 it should be version F6 released on 2018/03/07 with "Update CPU Microcode & Improve graphic card compatibility"

Yes I’ve been on the latest BIOS for awhile. I’ve done a fresh install of OSX tonight so I’ll see how that goes.
