I mean is an ACPI and DSDT issue what did you put on CLOVER/ACPI/Origin and ACPI/Patched ?

@taskforce21 ,

Did you adopt and use TSCAdjust.kext in /EFI/CLover/kexts/Other? It is absolutely mandatory with any unpatched BIOS. Also do you disable MSR lock in your BIOS settings?

Cheers,

KGP

A while back I posted the SSDT for the TB for the gigabyte x299 gaming 7. I believe I posted it on the TB3 thread too. It should be identical to the UD4. It was working perfectly for me. It's actually the best working situation for TB I ever had: hotplug worked and USB worked too.

I never managed to get it working as well with other motherboard

If I correctly remember, your TB-SSDT was not in compliance with SSDT-9.aml of the iMacPro dump. We are aiming at providing a TB-SSDT as close as possible to SSDT-9.aml, compatible with all mainboards and not only with the Gigabyte x299 gaming 7. The other remaining issue is that TB bus drivers are still not loaded. Thus, I don't think that the entire TB issue is completely solved at present anyway.

Hello everyone!
I got my asus deluxe today and started installation. I am having difficulties updating BIOS with X299D.CAP file. When I try to update BIOS in the BIOS menu it says that X299D.CAP is not bios file. If I follow instruction on page one and press BIOS-Flashback button it blinks three times then stays blue for 5 min or so. How long should it take to flash BIOS with the file in USB?
Did you ever figure out how to do this? I got the File from the post and followed the instructions and I'm still getting an error where the light stays after few blinks. What did you do to resolve this issue?

Make sure the USB device partition type is MBR and that the it is in FAT32 format.
If the light stays on after just a few blinks you know either the partitioning or format is wrong or there is some other problem with the flash disk itself.

When preconditions are fulfilled, flashback light should should go on for a couple of minutes until the light goes out when flashing is completed.

Strange thing is that I got the official CAP from Asus and it loaded just fine. Not so much the one I generated and the one I downloaded form this post. I'm installing Windows 10 and ill make a fat32 drive on windows and see if that changes anyhting

It is obvious to me that attempting to copy the iMac Pro SSDT adds zero value over just adding the two keys
PCIHotplugCapable and the NHI device.

The TB SSDT went from 300 bytes to over 6kB and improved absolutely nothing on how the mac was behaving...

So yes, the TB issue isn't solved... USB hotplug is a hit and miss, when the machine goes to sleep, it often doesn't work once resumed.

For the GB motherboard (except the Designare) it was close to being perfect however. No idea why it works so much better with those.
