LOL, it's just a plastic cover. I can remove it and the motherboard will work fine. I just hope it still lights up like it's supposed to. I really like using the apple wifi cards. Hate to waste the M.2 slot.

What bios are you running? If you are using X.M.P you have to set the AVX offsets correctly.. look at my earlier posts or follow the parameters that are outlined in the beginning of the guide with the sync all cores section. Make sure your using a patched bios if not, you will have to use a VoodooTSCsync.kext in your clover kext folder, correctly configured for your cpu using the voodooTSCsync configurator

Also if you are using 1301 bios with the kext make sure MSR lock is disabled. In the advanced/ cpu section of bios. This option won’t be there in 1202.

Also check the kernel pike alpha patch is disabled in the config.plist

with your cooler, I wouldn't go past 4GHz all-core sync...
You *must* set AVX/AVX512 offset to at least 3 (not Auto), otherwise you will get hang (I certainly do with the same processor running macOS while it's fine on Windows).

I use a Per Core Usage setting with my H115i
4.5Ghz for the first 4 cores
4.3GHz for 4-8
4.2GHz for 8-12
and 4GHz for 12-18.

temps never go above 85

do not use the default XMP settings for the CPU, that will enable Per Core Usage set at Auto, and that will go to 4.4GHz on all cores, including for AVX instructions (which is what makes it hang on my box with the 7980xe)
In the EZ mode, select No after changing the XMP settings to Profile 1

FWIW, I updated the BIOS on my X299-A Prime (to 1301, and set the MSR lock to disabled) and had to add TSCSync kext in order to boot (took me like 8 hours of troubleshooting to realize the issue was the lack of TSC kext... *sigh*).

Ok, so put my system to sleep, and when I came back I got a kernel panic with this. Any reason? I though sleep works on the patched asus x299 deluxe...no? How would I fix this?

Follow the exact settings in the beginning of the guide for the Asus board. You can skip the voltage offsets. The clover configurator has a kext and kernel patches section look in the tabs in that section there.
