Yeah http://www.stackoverflow.com is a great resource also. But it's more designed for people who are already up and coding and looking for help with specific things.
As someone who is looking to become certified with Apple on hardware look for the Apple authorized training manuals. They're basically the course work for people taking the classes for Apple certification. I'm not exactly sure of the angle you were trying to go for but that will get you part of the direction you are wanting to go. Look for them on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Amazon will probably have the best prices.
