I have found "EasyUEFI" as the best permanent solution to this vexing problem. For a temporary fix, you can run the command "bcfg boot dump" through the Shell > you find in Clover Boot Manager Screen to list all those pesky clover boot menu icons and then try the "bcfg boot rm " command and select the number (like 05 or 04 or whatever) that corresponds to the item you want to remove from the the list and when all the ones you want are removed using rm command, run bcfg boot dump again to see the final look before typing "exit" to go back to boot menu].
