Hey, I wanna do the same thing, the build will 99% work fine, cause the parts are compatible. BUT I was wondering if pro tools will work good with the hex core i5 which as far as I know is not placed in any official apple computer - please somebody correct me if I'm wrong. That's the only thing that bothers me. If someone is working on avid pro tools with this cpu please share some info - versions etc.

If I could suggest anything about Your build - i5 8th gen supports 2666 mhz ram, so maybe it's worth to buy something that has 2666 clock. But again i have no idea if 2666 ram will work under osx.
Edit: new imac pro has 2666 mhz ram

Thankyou for your suggest.. I will check into i

Please help anyone,
will there be any issues in the working of protools in this configuration??

There's no reason Pro Tools won't work well with a 6 core Coffee Lake i5. The scenarios in which you can have problems are usually related to software compatibility with macOS. i.e. the Pro Tools version you have is not the best choice for the newest release of macOS. I never use Pro Tools so you may want to ask in the Music section of the Forum.
