I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but I will need to use FakeCPU as my Hackintosh will have a Kaby Lake processor. My question is, how do you use FakeCPU if you can't get the Mac to work first?? Or can you do something in BIOS?

Bit confused. I know I shouldn't be.

If you follow the Installation Guide, first you run Unibeast to create a USB installer. Then you put FakeCPUID.kext and your modified Clover configuration on the USB installer before using it to boot up your Hackintosh hardware. Obviously you have to have access to another computer running macOS (either a Mac or another Hackintosh) to run Unibeast.

To boot, CPU ID needs to be spoofed. Go into Clover options at boot time and input the Skylake ID as FakeCPUID. Then just add the key and string in the KextandKernelPatches section of Clover's config.plist during post-installation.

Skylake CPUID: 0x0506E3

Yes use that.
