I can confirm those audio problems. I followed this guide here, which fixed it for me.

I did install the applehda replacement that was attached in the thread. However I dunno if it was needed as my audio was restored only after selecting ALC889 in non DSDT HDAEnabler. This appears to be the most important requirement.

Thank you so much. I hope to edit my DSDT and get this working through the normal method soon, but in the meantime I have sound.

There's new dsdts for several gigabyte boards including the z68x. Gotta figure out how to uninstall the hda-enabler...
