Hopefully near universal USB 3.0 driver for 3rd part controllers in 10.8.x

Kudos to helping out the community regarding USB 3.

I have VL800 (4 Port USB) on Lion 10.7.1

Device now comes up in the Hardware > USB as USB Super-speed Bus

When I connect a device i.e mouse, keyboard, hdd, ipod they do not mount/register.

Power is being drawn from the each of the ports.

there are a total of 3 download links: kext, kext 02, and kext 0.1.

do i need to install all 3? or some combination of them, or will just 02 work?

No success on GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 rev. 1.3 with Etron EJ 168 controller. ( My Hack sees SuperSpeed bus but nothing could be mounted (neither 3.0 devices nor 2.0 devices).
I used 02 archive version from the initial post.

Check the kext in the first thread of my signature. Different board, but same controller. Worked for me.

Thanks! I have just tested your kext. Result is the same. SuperSpeed bus is visible but devices (neither 2.0 nor 3.0) are not recognized.
On WD MyPassport (USB 3.0 hard drive) indicator blinks for 2-3 seconds after it was connected and then stays switched on (as previously) but it is not recognized.
Power is on but data not transfers (probably).

I also got some strange behavior in Windows 8 x64. After the latest drivers installation Etron USB 3.0 chip is visible and indicated as OKay in device manager but no devices could be mounted via blue ports.

ASMedia is much better than Etron in the light of using it in OSX86.

If you have a Renesas uDP720201, TI controller, VL801 or EJ188/198 USB 3.0 host controller, then please submit device ID's (manufacturer ID would be useful for TI as well).

I've had USB 3.0 working pretty well in Mountain Lion with the EJ168 ports. Occasionally I get handed a drive that causes a Kernel Panic and can't be used unless plugged in prior to boot, but generally they're fine and running at good speed.

Have you made sure to install the CalDigit USB 3.0 kexts from Multibeast, and not the LaCie one? Make sure you don't have PXHCD.kext lurking in your /System/Library/Extensions folder, too.
