Hopefully near universal USB 3.0 driver for 3rd part controllers in 10.8.x

Are you sill making mods to this USB 3.0 Kext?

If so, I have a piece of hardware I would like support added for...

It's the SYBA SD-MPE20142 (Mini-PCIe USB 3.0) - uses Renesas (uP)D720202

I have it in a 27” iMac late 2009 (iMac11,1), and it works under Windows/bootcamp!
I have tried 4 different OS X drivers with no luck at all.

I have a 2010 iMac and have, since I got it, kept a lookout to see if anyone tried putting a Mini PCI-Express USB 3.0 card in the airport socket in place of the airport Wireless card. It is good to know at least that it works under bootcamp. I too would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has got a similar setup working and if there are any issues. I am also curious how you routed out a USB 3.0 socket. Did you modify the case/the memory grill?

The kext that is supposed to be using is AppleUSBXHCIPCI.kext and in Hackintool it shows as PXSX Type controller like it's already installed but does not work.

Any suggestions?

This is an unsupported controller. in fact i think it might be the only one that's unsupported at this point since VIA has been working for a few macOS versions now, fresco has always worked, and asmedia works well now too. Get a different controller.

Ages ago we had these working with crappy hacked drivers, and i think it even sort of works with genericUSBXHCI, but it was always buggy and frustrating and not worth it.
