HighPoint RocketRaid 640L compatible or not?

I saw many information of HighPoint raid controller cards,
but on website show only information with another cards (620, 644, 642) my question is the 640L had support for MacOSx or not?

In my experience with highpoint(which is a lot) any series card that has mac support any officially not listed mac versions will work. So if a 642 works then its brother with different ports will work.

They just don't list support because certain combinations of cards don't make sense in a Mac Pro.

I believe the drivers are already cooked into OS X.

Hi i like to make a alert i tested RocketRaid 640 (not 640L) and it's not have cook drivers on system and i not search any kext drive for that card




I a newbie on hackintosh but i tried to do it, now i will tried a SYBA SD-PEX40054.

I had tried that drive but not work.

I have look for this problem, and others have the same problem with RocketRaid 640 (not L)
They don't made support for this old card

My sollution is purchase a Syba card SD-PEX40054

I really tried to resolve that problem but the Higpoint company don't do a drive for this card

By the way, your 640L is which one? Rocket 640L with marvell 88SE9230 chipset or RocketRAID 640L with marvell 88SE9235 chipset?

Yes. I have a 640L running in my EX58 project machine. See: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...x58-ud3r-into-a-prodigy-mini-itx-case.168344/ for details.

I am using it just to get SATA III as the MB does not have it. Today it runs one SSD and one HDD. In the distance past I ran hardware RAID 0 with this card but found that OS X software RAID 0 was faster.
