High Sierra Random Freezing

P95 Torture Blend running now while listening to 160k MP3 with Quick Look. How long should I do this? And what are we looking for?

Reading deeper in the aptiomemoryfix I think it's unrelated.

Just a couple of seconds is enough to cause the system to freeze if the issue is related to AVX offsets. Which apparently isn't the case for you, which is good.

I've had freezes with incorrect AVX offsets set. The issue is now somewhere else. Thanks for testing this.

yes, In my case, random freezes occurs mostly when the computer is in idle state.

What's your average uptime until you get the system to freeze?

I crashed the old HDD on last Friday. My Machine is still in testing with the new SSD. I will reboot the machine from time to time to play around the settings, maybe the average uptime is similar to yours.

Ok. Really hard to diagnose this issue as it freezes after several ours of uptime and nothing is shown in logs :(. I'm now on Windows and planning to leaving on this OS for at least 24h to eliminate the possibility that I have faulty hardware.

Unless someone has a clue, my new testing will be to perform a fresh MacOS install and leave the system up and running for 24h to see if the freezes are there on a fresh install as well.

Spending more time to debug this build than actually using it...

but the same machine (with GT-640) was working fine on High Sierra 10.13.x for a couple of months.

the differences are:
old setup : GT-640, High Sierra 10.13.x, no problem
new setup : HD3000, Sierra 10.12.6, random freezing

My issue is at least not load related - Prime95 test didn't crash the system at all. Definitely wondering if it's something about my SATA configuration, though. Especially since I have a fusion drive, I'm wondering if it's being kicked off during the cleanup task where OS X shifts things between SSD and the fusion drive.

The ICH10 fix in the above thread doesn't apply to me, I don't think (H87) mobo. I have SAT0->SATA, but haven't touched SATA otherwise.

I was able to leave the system up all weekend without incident but when I came to work on Monday it froze within 20 minutes of me starting to use it.

Exactly the same behaviour here as it happened today. The system was left alone for 14+ hours, when I started to use it it just froze after 10 minutes.

I had a look at your list of kexts. I can see that we have Lilu in common. Could it be it?

C.f. https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu/issues/20

After I make sure Windows can handle 24h+ of uptime, I'll switch to MacOS without Lilu.kext and see if the freezes are gone.

It's unlikely in my case - I installed Lilu and IntelGraphicsFixup as an early attempt to fix the same problem, so it predates their addition to my system.

Ok, so at least we know that's not the issue.

I have 24h+ hours of uptime on Windows, so that's definitely something related to MacOS.

Apparently my last freeze was a KP, for which I was able to retrieve the debug info (at reboot a prompt asked me if I want to send the data to Apple, for which I said yes and clicked to display the detail):

If you guys would do the same and post the info here that would help!

I'll debug tomorrow.
