I finally got some time to replace the GTX980 in my X99 build with the Gigabyte Rx580 Aorus
At first, I was unable to get it to boot to a usable screen, but with some research, I found my answers. Many patches later to my DSDT (thanks to RehabMan for most of the patches) and it compiles error and warning free. This allows me to boot the installer and install High Sierra. Checking the About this Mac and the System report, however, I see something strange - it thinks the Rx580 is an nVidia GTX970 for some reason and the Vendor is AMD!
It also seems to be confused as to location - I only have 3 PCIe slots on the board and it says it is in slot 6 - Duh? Is this a leftover from the GTX1080 in a cache somewhere that I need to flush? I do not see how it can be on the Mac OS drive since this is a fresh install on a clean SSD.
