High Sierra Installer "VEK unwrap failed"

I'm trying to upgrade from 10.12.6 to 10.13. I have followed the Update Directly to macOS High Sierra guide and have moved kexts and apfs.efi to the EFI partition and I am using Clover 4220.

When I boot Clover automatically boots in to the High Sierra update, which eventually fails with "VEK unwrap failed, this is normal, except for the root volume." Attached is a photo of the full boot when it fails. I have also uploaded a .zip of my CLOVER directory.

Any help would be much appreciated!

edit: For anyone that finds this, I had to also copy over HackrNVMeFamily kext to "/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/"

Bump? I've still not been able to boot. I do not have FileVault enabled and the disk is not encrypted. However, it is an NVMe drive, which means I have used RehabMan's solution, which I will remove once updated to High Sierra. Maybe this is part of the problem?
