Hey,

I attempted to install High Sierra onto my Dell XPS 15 from a UniBeast USB I prepared from my Mac Mini. When I boot the installer from Clover, a kernel panic occurs about 3 seconds into the boot-up.

I have searched everywhere for a fix to this problem, including this: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-only-ran-for-0-seconds-with-dual-gpu.233092/ to no avail.

I also tried installing macOS Sierra onto the XPS which worked fine, then ran the High Sierra installer. When the installer prompted me to restart, I got the same kernel panic when booting the installer from Clover.

I've attached my Clover folder (which works with normal Sierra) + Clover F4 output, and a screenshot of the kernel panic.

Any suggestions?

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.

The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"

I updated my personal details to include my laptop's chipset (HM175 Mobile)
Any idea on how I could fix my problem?

Missing screen resolution in "Graphics".
Chipset should be in "CPU" (but we already knew it was 100-series, as that is the only possibility with the CPU you have).

Did you go back and follow the guide?

Sorry about that. Personal info is fixed now. I thought the problem might be with the GTX 1050 in the laptop but unfortunately my BIOS doesn't have an option to disable it. I tried following your guide to patch the _OFF method but that didn't do anything.

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Perhaps you failed to follow this part of the guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-only-ran-for-0-seconds-with-dual-gpu.233092/

It is linked from the main guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Pay attention to the info in the guide regarding DVMT-prealloc too...
Must read carefully.

I had the same issue among the "couldn't allocate runtime area" error. I sat for ages looking at guides and fixes, but this one worked for me: https://github.com/wmchris/DellXPS15-9550-OSX. Just start from scratch with the
OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi from https://nickwoodhams.com/x99-hackintosh-osxaptiofixdrv-allocaterelocblock-error-update/ instead of the other OsxAptioFix files.

I don't have the exact same config but XPS15 9550 (i5 6300HQ)
Good luck!

OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi is not recommended (not even recommended by the person that created it!)
