High Sierra Hangs When I try the Direct Install Method - Please Help

Please help, I'm getting the following when I try to upgrade:
sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 1054
(hangs for about 5 minutes, then)
hangs for a long time (so long I lost track of it) at
Kextd stall[0], (240s): 'AppelACPICPU'

Exact same issue trying to upgrade from a stable 10.12.6 build.

Edit: I fixed it by making sure FakeSMC.kext is injected in Clover.
