Motherboard
GA Z170X UD5 TH - (32 GB)
CPU
i7 6700
Graphics
R9 380 (4GB)
High Sierra (probably works for Sierra too) can boot in a simple way from NVMe SM951. (Will test other NMMe drives in the weekend). In disk utility used restore button to copy from a working installation to the NVMe drive. Not even needed to use Super Duper! (Great tool Super Duper is though). This is on GA Z170X UD5 TH motherboard and Radeon R9 380 graphics card. Used on board HDMI to see clover, funny enough this works well with clover 3766 and output from Radeon R9, Intel HD 530 then only 31M and no use. On this mother board the HDMI from Intel HD 530 remains very problematic in combination with R9 380. If boot from clover 4114 can connect from Thunderbolt 3 ports for video (1536 MB) (Including if wanted a Apple thunderbolt display) - (connect Thunderbolt display only after successful boot to avoid kernel panic) - but black screen from Radeon R9, not even Piker's black screen solutions work.

Trying to get Optane 32 GB to work for booting. Via GA Z77X UD4 TH in El Capitan (with Jim's NVMe patch) was able to format Optane and with Super Duper clone High Sierra Beta 2 to Optane. AS Z77 cannot see Optane (this Z77 can see most NVMe drives, including a few Plextor, after an earlier install of a Intel 750 NVMe), so it is not possible to boot on Z77. On Z170X UD5 TH every trial to boot (from any installation of a Mac Intel) result in a kernel panic. Getting Optane to work should be fun. This is above my pay grade, just doing via trial and error, know very little to nothing about how to use clove etc.... Something Piker Alpha or another of you wizards can figure out ?

My hackintosh was just updated to PB2(17A306f) , but got a black screen. (Previous 10.13 PB works well on APFS Volumes. The previous OSX 10.8.x ~ 10.12.5 works well also).

It seem the hackintosh has been boot successfully and login desktop, but output a "Black screen" to monitor ( HDMI / DVI , both).

Boot with verbose mode (-v and a lot of logs shown on screen), then go into a black screen situation. It seem like everything works but got a black screen result.

I can remote login with VNC and see the normal desktop in VNC remote control ( so I can see the Version number 17A306f in "About this mac")

I've test with R9-280X or GTX-780. GTX-780 works but R9-280X not.

SMBIOS: iMac 13,2

Install 10.13 on APFS Volumes

I have the exact same problem with 10,13,3 did you find any solution?

I changed the port from HDMI to mini-DP on VGA Card (R9-280X) and it works!. It seem like only work on mini-DP port, and got black screen on HDMI/DVI port.

The macOS 10.14 Mojave (Beta) is still the same situation on R9-280X.
