Comments:

So this is my first time building a Hackintosh as my Mac Mini and Macbook Pro are just not cutting it for my video and photography editing needs.
I debated a iMac but realise that for the same price I can get far more powerful build through a hackintosh build.

I read tons of guides and Golden builds and came to my final decision with using the above components where selected for my build.

I sort of had a YOLO moment with selecting the Mother board knowing how new it is and how unsupported it was.

Therefore I decided to document my build step by step so that if I run into problems you guys can see exactly where I may have gone wrong and help me out being my first ever build.

So lets get started.

Installation:

I removed all but one of my RAM sticks as tonymac86's guide mentioned before getting started.

UEFI:Load Optimized Defaults
Disable VT-d
SATA mode = AHCI
Initial Display Output = IGFX
Set BootModeSelection to Legacy Only

**Used the above from daemontus' guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/135033-success-gigabyte-h97m-d3h-i7-4790-hd4600.html

I booted up the Unibeast created USB and got straight into the Installation screen without the need of any Boot flags.

After this was done I used Disk Utility and formatted my SSD drive where Mavericks was to be installed.
The installation ran smoothly.

After reboot and post install using Multibeast I had trouble booting my Mavericks installed mirror and and it just had the grey Apple screen with the ring constantly spinning.
Eventually I found success using the "-x " boot flag.
After this completed the Mavericks Installation.

MultiBeast:

Here are options I used for Mutibeast

I used the following two User guide for my Multibeast settings:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/135033-success-gigabyte-h97m-d3h-i7-4790-hd4600.html
http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...eon-1241v3-3-5ghz-gtx-760-2gb-matx-build.html

Along with the above guides I used the setting detailed for the Audio fix for onboard on 9 Series Boards:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/134002-quick-fix-onboard-audio-9-series-motherboards.html

I kept getting the following during the Multibeast Install

After that I deleted the Intel HD3000 and HD4000 kexts as mentioned by daemontus here:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/135033-success-gigabyte-h97m-d3h-i7-4790-hd4600.html

I then shut down and restarted and left the boot to begin normally but the boot hanged on the Apple Boot grey screen and would not move any further.

I then tried booting in safe mode and after about 2 min on the boot screen I was back into Mavericks.

Wi-Fi connectivity seems to work fine, I haven't tried with an Ethernet Cable yet but will kep you updated when I do.

I am not sure how to move forward from here and no forum here that I have looked at has been able to help me boot outside of safe mode.

I have left my remaining RAM sticks out and and am still using my internal graphics card till I can fix this.

PLEASE HELP???!!!

I intend to use the graphics card.

Sure I will post some pics of that I get when I get back home after work.

Would I be able to install Windows 8.1 in the meantime on my other SSD, and with that would it be better to install Windows via Bootcamp or would I just install that completely separately but use Chimera to choose which OS I want to boot from?

If you are going to use the discrete card, i would say don't bother right now with the HD 4600, disabled it on BIOS and boot using GraphicsEnabler=No Your GTX760 it's supposed to be recognized out of the box.

I'm not very familiar with bootcamp. But If you have two separate hard drives. That would be better, you can install Windows 8.1 first, then remove that hard drive and install the one it's going to have OS X after you have everything setup on OS X with chimera, and your BIOS is pointing to that hard drive, just connect the Windows 8.1 hard drive, and chimera will pick it up.. But this is, if you are planing on install Windows 8.1 on legacy mode, if you want it on UEFI then you should install using Clover.

Oh wow thanks, my boot time is like immediate since I disabled the Intel Graphics and I no longer have to boot in Safe Mode

For the "GraphicsEnable=No" boot flag, do I have to do it every time I boot Mavericks or is there some way to set it up to do it automatically.

Sorry for all the Questions, this is my first go with ever building a Hackintosh.

I have read through forums that just unplugging the mavericks drive while doing the Windows install is all I need to do and after replug it in and set the OSX drive as the priority boot drive and Multibeast will show windows as a boot option with no problem.

I will try booting the device now with all my RAM sticks and see if everything still boots smoothly. And will update you all after.

Thanks again for all your help CybermaniaK

Well the boot flag is not needed as long as it's present on your file on /Extra/org.boot.chamaleon.plist you can edit that file using Text edit or download Chamaleon Wizard to edit that file.

Yeah that's the way, just make sure you install Windows on Legacy mode and not under UEFI, because Chimera will not see it.

Sure, report back. I guess it should boot fine.

Ok sorry for the late reply I have been away interstate for a Photoshoot this last week.

I have successfully been able to dual-boot Mavericks and Windows 8.1 via Chimera.

My method was as previously stated, to unplug all drives except the intended windows boot drive, now I couldn't actually install windows until I changed to bios settings to enable UEFI just to install Windows.

After successful install I then replugged all my drives in and changed the bios settings back and Chimera recognised Windows with no problems.

I now face a new problem.
I intended to use Migration assistant to transfer all my files, Apps and data from my Mac mini to this machine.

BUT when connecting the two devices via Ethernet they do not recognise each other.
It may be the Hackintosh at fault as I cannot test the ethernet port to as my machine nowhere near my modem and impossible to setup near it.

I am happy to do the migration over WiFi but I would rather not as it would be slower and it would take up all the bandwidth on the network, which would effect connectivity of other devices my family use on the same network for internet and streaming to the AppleTV.

It should also be worth knowing I have changed the location of my Home Folder to another drive (1TB WD 7200rpm HDD) as the SSD would get filled way too quick.
Using the guide shown here: http://www.cultofmac.com/126621/how-to-move-or-rename-your-mac-home-folder-macrx/

Does anyone have experience with knowing if Migration assistant can transfer all the data and apps to the secondary drive?
The SSD was only intended as a fast Boot Drive and my important Apps that I use often.
