Hi Expert,

I have a Optiplex 7050 micro (second hand) with
6600T CPU with HD 530 graphics and
256 SSD, 8GB RAM. Using the low power, 35W, chip.
Motherboard is Q270.
Sound card is Realtek 3234 (I believe this is same as 255)
4K monitor

Following vanilla Mojave guide I was able to install 10.14.4.

But following are the issues I am having and have spent a lot of hours to fix (to my best ability) but got nowhere.

- Graphics are jittery, show only 31MB of ram
- No audio
- bottom part of the screen is cropped

Could anyone assist with fixing these issues? I have read a lot of articles on the site, including laptop config, but no success.

I have attached the kexts and the config.plist.

By the way, I am booting up from USB. is this an issue when trying to fix the problem? Should I copy the EFI to desktop as shown in youtube videos.

Thanks in advance.

Please try this config.plist.

Many thanks.

Shall I just use your plist in my EFI and restart or re-install Mojave again using your plist?
1. Make a backup of your existing EFI folder.
2. Replace your existing config.plist.
3. Reboot.

Please report back if the new config.plist works good or not.

Pastrychef, you are a LEGEND!

I need to figure out how to fix the audio and add other screen resolutions. Have anything you could share/suggest?

I don't know what audio chipset your computer uses... What screen resolution problems are you having?

It uses Realtek 3234 (seems to be same as 255 from what I have read)
Max resolution available is 1920x1080, but have 4K monitor. I only have the following resolutions available

If you look on the AppleALC supported codecs page, you can see:
Screen Shot 2019-05-12 at 9.52.21 AM.png

So, you can try any of those audio-ids in your config.plist:

What kind of cable do you use to connect your monitor? DisplayPort? HDMI?
When you are in System Preference > Displays, hold the Option key and click on the "Scaled" button.

Thanks for the prompt response.
I will try the layout IDs again with this installation. I had no luck in the past.

I am using HDMI cable. Previous Hackintosh installations did work with 4K, but with bottom part of the screen cropped. I have the following resolutions available only

If none of those audio-ids work with AppleALC, you can try VoodooHDA. Personally, I'm not a big fan of VoodooHDA, but for some installations, it can provide audio where AppleALC can't...

You can try using ResXtreme or SwitchResX to see if they can provide you with more resolution choices. ResXtreme is free and SwitchResX is a commercial app.
