In the guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

"Installing essential kexts

Remove EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, leaving just 'Other'"

There is a 10.10 now. Is that where the kexts go instead of 'Other'?

I will update the guide. Delete also 10.10.

That's what I assumed, but after installation, I get "No bootable device -- Insert boot disk and press any key" after installing the drive.

Unrelated to kext problem. Did you install Clover correctly (for UEFI, to the ESP)? Do you have UEFI enabled in BIOS?

No option in BIOS to deal with UEFI. I have just assumed that it was present. Is there a way to legacy boot the HDD?

If you have no option for enabling/disabling UEFI, then your BIOS is not UEFI capable.

You can install Clover in legacy mode (referred as as CloverEFI), but it is not covered in the guide.

Were you able to solve the issues and get it to boot correctly into the OS? thanks!

I have the same laptop and I'm having the same issues.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.

The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"
