I looking to build a hackintosh for my home studio, at the moment I run pro tools 9 HD on a late 2008 macbook pro, witch is giving out on me. I have a buddy of mine built one of these in the past for his home studio with help from you guys and im looking to do the same. He put together a list of components for me to build a hackintosh with snow leopard witch is what i need to run pro tools 9 hd, but he told me to post on here before buying the components to double check if they are ok for snow leopard 10.6.8. Her the list guys hope someone can help me out im really thrilled about putting this thing together. Thanks for your time

Hi Andre,

Welcome to Tonymac

Your main hardware should be fine to run 10.6.8, most of these motherboards used on this site would appear to be running 10.7 or 10.8. I did however find this quite quickly : http://www.tonymacx86.com/snow-leop...all-issues-retail-dvd-iboot-ga-z68xp-ud4.html

There are some helpful information there. The one item that would concern me is the WIFI card - I have seen one person claim that they managed to get it working under 10.6, but I have seen many that did not manage. I suggest doing a search for USB wifi for better success rate.

You may also find this a good resource of information : http://www.tonymacx86.com/music/
