HELP, Mojave on 8250U / UHD620 missing QE/CI acceleration.

Hey there! I think I've made some progress... I installed lilu kext, FakePCIID_Intelhdgraphics.kext and Intel graphicsfixup.kext, no fake id, only platform Id 0x19160000 (injetc intel) and got full acceleration on HDMI port (full hd monitor), laptop display still blurred, I'm attaching screenshots. Again my laptops specs: hp pavilion x360 14-cd0006la, Intel i5 8250u (Intel graphics uhd 620)

Full Acceleration means that the FB-PAtcher say you "YES and YES" on QE/Ci and Metal ?

If so... then you can be "close" to have it running.
On mine, also 8250U HP notebook... the main screen and external screen work perfect, and with high resolution (my Dell monitor is 1440P) but... it lacks the QE/CI and Metal (say "No" there)... and it feels laggy for what I am used to.

Btw... if you're injecting 0x19160000 you are actually faking the ID, because this one is from skylake.

Your Hackintool (Intel-FB-Patcher) says your Graphics card has a Device Id of 0x5916 (see your first screenshot). That is actually a Intel HD 620. Based on Intel information the HD 620 can be 0x5916 or 0x5917 and the UHD 620 can be 0x5917 only.

If you want to run with that ID, which is fine you maybe want to set AAPL,ig-platform-id to 00001659. That is all I have done and I have QE/CI/Metal and HDMI/DisplayPort using Dongles including Audio. Relevant Kexts are:

Lilu.kext
WhateverGreen.kext

In the beginning I also downloaded the pre-made Intel HD 6xx config.plist from RehabMan but in the end I deleted everything inside Devices>Properties>PciRoot(0)/Pci(0x2,0) and just run with the AAPL,ig-platform-id

Well... I have tried just with ig-platform-id ... and booted, but only internal display (no hdmi) and also, no QE/CI.
So far... it seems that the "HD 620" of the i7-7500U is very different than the "UHD 620" on i5-8250U.

I have tried many configurations, spoofed and not spoofed, faked and not faked, using the git scripts to build it... etc. no matter what I did, i NEVER got que QE/CI working. (i had different behaviour, like no internal monitor... no external monitor... external monitor with a pink tone ... etc.)

I think that maybe the Mojave is just incompatible with the UHD 620 ??....
Can someone CONFIRM having a UHD 620 with QE/CI and METAL working on MOJAVE?
and if so.... can provide the debug files, so I see what kexts and configs you're using.

You don't magically get HDMI working just with platform-id. You probably have to patch Framebuffer and Connectors.

Over in a German forum a user has same CPU/GPU combination (plus additional nVIDIA mGPU). Maybe this helps




His current problem is flickering internal display and was told to extract the EDID from his monitor (when it's working, eg. under Windows or Linux) and inject/patch it on macOS.

Yes, I hope so ... I tried with the information I could see in the images, including (device, platform, stolen memory size...etc) but again, no luck! there has to be something missing.....
