Help! Mavericks Install Boot Problems on Lenovo D20 (X5650)

Alright, I'll post here so everyone can benefit from it.

1. Yes. Make sure you use a patched appleacplatform as well.

2. Yes, I'm currently on 10.9.2. I'll install Yosemite when I have this fully configured.

3. All USB ports work. The app store does as well.

4. No additional files are required as far as I can remember. Try booting the installer and I can help you troubleshoot.

Hi Freeman, I have tried with Mavericks and Yosemite but can't get to the installer on a ThinkStation S20. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

I am working on a writeup to be posted publicly here. PM me.

Thanks for your reply, I was losing hope & was thinking about selling off the Lenovo...

saracli-
1. Add these files to /Extras/Extensions on installer USB:

- AppleACPIPlatform.kext (VERSION FOR 10.9.5)
- iopci.kext
2. BIOS Settings:
- disable Marvell SATA/RAID in BIOS
- optional: enable Enhanced mode (not compatible) for Intel SATA in BIOS
- optional: disable Vt-D
- disable wake on ethernet
- disable firewire
3. Boot from USB with the following boot flags:
- try this 1st: x v -f npci=0x200 npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes
- if that doesn’t work try this: -v -f npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=No
- NOTE: MONITOR MAY GOTO SLEEP, BUT WAIT A LONG TIME (MAY TAKE UP TO 10-15 MINUTES OR MORE!) AND IT WILL WAKE WITH INSTALLER, OR PRESS POWER BUTTON / MOVE MOUSE TO WAKE COMPUTER AT LATER TIME
