I'm so close to having an almost perfect HacBook Pro with my Dell Inspiron 7573. The final piece is getting the integrated webcam working. I've mapped the USB ports, and the OS can see it. It shows as a device in FaceTime, Skype, Teams, and Zoom, but when I select the device the video is just black. In FaceTime, after a minute or so it says "No Video. FaceTime has not received any video from the connected camera. Restarting your computer may fix this issue."

The device IDs show it as a RealTek (idVendor: 0xBDA) camera (idProduct: 0x5693). It shows in IOReg and IOJones just fine.

I tried modifying the Info.plist in UVC2FaceTimeHD.kext, but still get the same black video stream.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's the IOJones dump:

I looked around for more things you might try, but I didn't really find anything.

Sleep is working on your system?

Thanks kylec. Grabbed the kext and changed the idProduct to my id. The idVendor was already correct. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I still get nothing but black from the webcam.

It did change the name, though.
how's your progress with this laptop?
