Hello,

I'm trying to figure out what the source of my BSOD is. I've been having this problem for several weeks. It does not always crash, but when it does, it is usually after I have recently turned on my computer. It displays the blue screen error shuts down, tries to reboot, shows a quick bios page that is not the same one that shows on boot and then shuts down again. If I hit the power button it will usually turn back on and start working for a bit. I've had the computer for about 2 years. I have the specs and the error details below.

Please let me know if I can post anything else that could help.

Thanks for your help!

You should really search on a Windows form. This error message is sometimes the product of overclocking.

Now if you are having a problem with OS X, please provide the appropriate details.

Good modding,

I don't have my CPU overclocked. I will try a Windows forum too.

The freezing and shutdown issues seem to be the same on my Mac and Windows partition so I'm thinking it's from the same source. The Mac side just shuts down though instead of providing an error code.

I had a very similar situation and found out that I had a broken memory slot retaining clip. Removed the memory on that channel and have not had any BS since.

Try the following:
- Remove any over-clocking of CPU and Memory you may have.
- Check your temperatures with HW Monitor.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
- Download MemoryTest and burn the ISO to a CD/DVD. Let it run for a few hours.

- Use on-board graphics (just as a test).
- Update all hardware drivers to their newest versions.
