Look at what these folks are doing!! They track everything and they are on nearly all mobile phones! Thank God for Apple, they flushed it out mostly in iOS 5 and they are going to completely kill it with an update. Carrier IQ has a true legal shitstorm heading there way 140 million people strong.

The default setting on the iPhone 4 is off (check preferences). Future OS updates from Apple will totally remove it from iPhone4.

... you know, people who complain about Carrier IQ are on Facebook and Twitter and whatever social sites out there. They complain about CIQ but tweet they're going to bed, taking a vacation, feeling bored, just ate a burrito, etc.... just funny how some people are

I have heard rumors Law enforcement agencies possibly using this to track various activities somehow.
