HDR on/off in catalina?

Is there any way to switch on/off HDR in catalina?

I am planning to install catalina to use with my LG C8 OLED TV.

The HDR option makes a huge difference on Windows 10.

Can catalina do HDR OS wide in 2019?

This is the info I found. Looks like 2017 Machines and up for streaming. And, 2018 and up for playback.

Its ok. I checked twice with Apple on this matter.

They clearly said its not possible to have HDR OS wide , like we have on windows 10.

May be in future upgrades.

I know HDR enalbing OS wide is possible because i do it on Apple TV 4k connected to my LG C8. DV is enabled for all TV shows/movies.

we just have to wait for mac os to catch up to windows 10 now.

I just did the install with Catalina to a board similar to yours, it did not work. I tried using the TV app no luck yet! That sux, Seems like your motherboard with the correct smbios should work!

Don't bother , Mac os does not have HDR os wide yet.

Heck, they just barely made 4K HDR available for few select models and that too just for media in 2020.

FFS they need to wake up.

Windows 10 is way ahead of macos.

I have Catalina 10.15.3 SMBIOS is currently iMac14.2. So chaingin it to 14.7+ should open up the HDR option in syspref>displays? Trying it now.
