So I've been reading through some of the threads about getting HDMI audio to work. I have an XFX AMD Radeon 6870 connected to an Asus P6P67 Pro (v3) running 10.7.2. I understand the first thing to do is look at the DSDT.aml file. However I don't believe there is one for my motherboard, so I'm assuming I have to generate one myself? I downloaded the DSDT patchfile and editor from maldon's site. I extracted the DSDT file and applied the patchfile (P8P67.txt), however I got something like 80 errors when I tried compiling.

Am I heading down the right path so far? The system is working very well without a DSDT file, but I would like to get HDMI audio to work with as little effort as possible.

Yes. It is unusual to have that many errors with an autopatcher. Perhaps the edit file is not correct for your motherboard. Nevertheless, you can download my P8H67-I-Deluxe dsdt as an example from http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=162&t=31947, post 1, attachment 5, as it has most of the dsdt edits needed for Lion. There is also a good guide here http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=35559. You must have a good, working dsdt before you can start on HDMI audio. Good luck.
