i'm a bit confused, if you can only accomplish this through DSDT editing, does that mean you cannot do it on UEFI motherboards (such as my gigabyte z77x-ud5h)?

your uefi board still uses a dsdt.
extract the dsdt using dsdt editor, and use the hdef edits in toleda's thread

Hmmm, in my case i don't need HDMI (Audio), because i have a external Audio Interface, but i really would like to know how to activate the HDMI (Video) Signal. I just got a black screen. Right now i'm using HDMI to DVI Cable, this works great so far. But i would like to use the HDMI from my Hackintosh.
