Over the past few years, the community has been doing painstaking testing for HDMI audio compatibility in Mac OS X. After each major OS X point update, forum moderator toleda has collected and released experimental patched AppleHDAs, new guides, methods, and documentation. Thanks to his dedication and others, enabling HDMI audio + video through your onboard graphics or your discrete graphics card is now amazingly simple.

Check out this new guide for documentation and credits: Mountain Lion HDMI Audio

Before I could not enable HDMI audio, now there is Toleda guide. Thank you guys

i'm a bit confused, if you can only accomplish this through DSDT editing, does that mean you cannot do it on UEFI motherboards (such as my gigabyte z77x-ud5h)?
