So I saw that you no longer need the Tune Up package with 10.7.3. Does that mean that HD3000 audio is enabled through only DSDT edits now? Also, does HD3000 HDMI audio require the ALC889 to be enabled on my motherboard? I don't need any onboard audio just HDMI audio. Thx in advance for your help!.

HDMI audio requires both dsdt and AppleHDA edits. You need the 889 edited AppleHDA.kext here http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=45413. Technically, 889 on board audio has to be configured for HDMI audio to work. Configured means codec_id, pin configs, layout and pathmap are included in AppleHDA. In your case, 889 on board is there for free along with HDMI audio on the 889 edited AppleHDA.kext.

Thx dude!

I added the edits from your thread here:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=162&t=31948

I've already added the edits from this section to my DSDT:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=45413
Audio ID:389, layout-id: 185
The new 389 layout-id is for HD 3000 HDMI + most onboard choices.

Getting the mobo (GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3) tomorrow, can't wait to try it out. I got my GT430 working with your guide. You're a pretty solid, smart dude. Thx again.

Is it as simple as making the DSDT edits and replacing my AppleHDA with your 889 edited AppleHDA kext?
