HD 5670 Issues

Hi,

My Asus HD 5670 works OOB but not without a few annoying issues:

1. It is recognized as HD 5000, shouldn't it be recognized as 5600?[/*:m:38yt1f6t]
2. Apps (Geekbench, DVD player etc..) crash![/*:m:38yt1f6t]
3. Default Framebuffer, shouldn't it be vevret?[/*:m:38yt1f6t]

I've not spent several days playing with kexts and dodging KPs but still no luck. This is what I did so far:

• Vendor and Device ID in ATI5000Controller and ATIRadeonX3000 - CHECK[/*:m:38yt1f6t]
• AtiConfig set to Uakari/Baboon/Hoolock - CHECK (nothing worked)[/*:m:38yt1f6t]
• GraphicsEnabler - Yes/No (neither worked)[/*:m:38yt1f6t]
• Used these kexts - CHECK (didn't work)[/*:m:38yt1f6t]

Someone on InsanelyMac suggested hardcoding card info into DSDT, but I have no clue about it.

I'd really appreciate any help and I'm even willing to pay a small fee for the help.

Same problem in Lion, 10.7. I have a SAPPHIRE 100289VGAL Radeon HD 5670 1GB DDR3 card; I get full screen resolution with HDMI but DVD player and Geekbench crash with GE=No. The only framebuffer personality that works is Baboon. Any ideas out there ?

I had that card , and i add ''Uakari'' Framebuffer and Pci root fix [ in MBeast ] and now the DVD, and Geekbench work, but i have 2 monitors , and 1 is not recieving video signal.....sucks ! had to change the card for a Nvidia 240gt....

Ah, can you please post how you used Uaakari, which kects did you use? Can you please post the steps?

I only have a single monitor so its not an issue for me.

yes, same here, can you post the steps?

Edit: with the pcirootuid=1 and ATIConfig=Uakari, GE=yes,
now DVD and geekbench are working

and the video playback freeze issue is gone! thank you!

Are you using the default kexts?

Ok, just tried that, no display although it seems to boot fine because i can eject the cd tary and sound feedback works.

Any solution?

I use the kexts from MB 3.7 is that the default one??? I dunno

Not sure, can you please attach those kexts for me? I'll try and let you know if it works.

I have the same problem with my XFX 5670

it works OOB 'til 10.6.7,
but no Lion support... I've already tried everything in the first post.
even using 10.6.7 kexts won't work.
