I will do that @wildwillow is there a way to tell mac osx to use a port as a thunderbolt port ?

I would think OS X should know it is connected to a thunderbolt port. As for your question if I read it correctly, do you mean edit/modify the connection to tell OS X its a thunderbolt port? I would say that it working as designed if you have a picture/display in use from the port of discussion.

Yeah, i mean since the camera and the audio on the Thunderbolt screen is not recognised. The question is:

1. Is it because of the Thunderbolt 3/ USB type C connection ? (no skylake with thunderbolt 3 from apple yet).
2. Or is it the USB type C to Thunderbolt 1,2 adapter that is not recognised as Thunderbolt ?

Where should i look for it in IOReg file ?
