Don't worry, you are not alone. And from what I've read across the forums, we aren't by far the only ones. Here's my last hang:

How did you install your OSX Lion? Is it 10.7.2?
We have the same mobo , processor & GPU.
I installed my OSX via Unibeast - USB but I can't get HD-3000 to its full resolution.
How did you make it work? Kindly share. Thx.

I used the mac mini machine definition in multi-beast, the logic behind this is that MAC ships Hd3000 only with mac mini... worked for me...

Knowing i'm not alone does not make me happyier... it just makes me sadder... I followed the recommended builds thinking i'd get a good working machine to record my music and makes videos... I should've bought a mac... I regret my 1500$ investment and will until my issue is resolved... I tried to connect a GTS250 but that didn't work... I'd have to buy a GPU but i'm sick of putting money in at this point, knowing it's like playing russian roulette now...

I just realized that it freezes more often when i'm browsing the web... I've been using chrome from the beginning... I'm using safari now and will see if that makes any difference.

I know how you feel. I have felt this almost every time I bought a new hack. And yet, I keep coming back for more. I guess it's because after a period of time, my machines have always worked the way I wanted them to. Hang in there.

It's interesting that using discreet graphics didn't work. What exactly happened when you installed the discreet card? I ask because I may be in the same boat here. My HD3000 graphics are not very good, though I have not been able to pin any hardware crash on it.

I could only boot in safe mode... I disabled the internal GPU, I tried injecting the nvidia 64bit kext, still nothing...
Even after injecting the kext I couldn't get passed the apple logo...

So I booted with HD3000 in safe mode, deleted everything I just had done and continued to use the HD3000

Just to add, i've been uptime 3h now and didn't crash... it's almost a miracle!

Yikes, that much money into it? I only spent about $800 and my system works great with Logic, and protools 10. And I'm using the hd3000.
