Comments:

Although I've only been running this computer for a short time, I can't say enough good things about it. I'm SO happy with this build and how smoothly the whole process went.
If you follow these two guides (to a T) then you will be successful:

Lion Installation Guide for Ivy Bridge CPUs: http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=59052
Interim Realtek Ivy Bridge Lion AppleHDA:http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=63854

I haven't run into a single problem yet.. touch wood. Audio, sleep, firewire card all work great.

The purpose of this build is mainly to run Logic Pro Studio (installed onto the SSD along with Lion OS) and then eventually add another SSD for Windows 7 OS so I can dual boot and play games. Once I do that this week I'll add my experience to the OP. The 2TB WD Caviar Green HDD is for media storage and will be used by both OS' using exFAT formatting.

I needed the build to be very silent for recording and it is. I can hardly hear it. Although I only have 3 fans including the CPU cooler fan.

I haven't done any overclocking yet but will add to OP once I do.

I don't have a screen cap of my MultiBeast configuration but it's very similar to this one from the tonymacx86 ivy bridge guide:

The only difference is I chose ALC898 instead of ALC877/888b

So far this machine burns through anything I throw at it. I highly recommend this build. Thanks x 1,000,000 to tonymacx86 and everyone contributing to this site. Could NOT have done it without all of the help :headbang:

Thanks! :D

Yeah.. like I said, I haven't added any additional fans to the case so there are only 2 and then the cpu cooler. So it's really quiet at the moment, but I might need to add fans later on. And yes the SSD is very quiet and I only use the caviar for storage so it's not constantly being read.

The firewire card just pops into a PCI slot and it worked OOB.

Only thing about the build that I just noticed is my GeekBench score is a little lower than it should be.. I'm gonna post it later when I'm off work (on my break currently) and see if anyone has any tips for me.

Hey guys,

One thing I have noticed is my GeekBench and Black Magic Disk Speed scores seem to be a bit low. Admittedly I'm no expert with this kind of stuff so I'd love any form of advice.
Currently I have both the SSD and HDD connected to the white Sata 3 ports on my motherboard, using 6gb/s cables that came with the board. Not sure if that's the best way or not.

Here are my results:

Your SSD speed is insanely fast for a Crucial M4 so your good there.

Your Geekbench is also right where it needs to be.

Awesome build and hopefully I answered your questions

OP's recommendation had me purchase the 570 HD

:headbang:

By any chance have you tried ML yet? Most of my parts are almost identical to this build and I'm planning on actually building it tomorrow. Just wondering if you have and how it's going if you did.

Great build btw
