Having Thunderbolt 2.0 enabled causes slow boot

Hey everyone
I have a z97x-ud7 th motherboard and when I enable the Thunderbolt ports it causes the system to boot very slow. 2+ minuets.
With the ports disabled it boots in 5 seconds (SSD J)
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to correct this issue?
