Having problem with nividia drivers

Hello everyone i just formated my pc to windows10 i am still new on windows10 i didnt update the windows or anything and i tried to download nividia drivers when i finished downloading it after it started checking for system compability it keeps saying " the nividia graphics driver is not compatible with the version of windows" can anyone tell me whats the problem do i have to download all the windows update before i download the gpu drivers or what ?
