First the hardware:

GTX 480
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3
Intel Core i3-2015

The backstory:

I originally had Lion working with this build, but then my PSU died, so in the interim I installed ML with a 550 Ti, and wasn't all too pleased. Finally my PSU replacement showed up so I slapped that in, along with the 480, and when trying to boot into that ML install I got the black screen that says to power off the machine. I figured that's fine, I'll just reinstall.

When trying to boot from my USB drive:

I never needed any flags before so tried without, the white apple screen shows up for a bit, then disappears and I get nothing.

I have tried many variations of -v -x -f -s GraphicsEnabler=No, all of which yield the same results.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Several thing come to mind. Have you tried boot your USB installer on your other machine to see if it will boot to the GUI installer start screen?

Also, you can boot the installer with the -v (verbose) argument and watch where the boot hangs up. Posting a photo of this screen often gives readers an idea of what is going astray.

Good luck,
neil
