So here is what happened:

I installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard using iBoot.
Then I followed all the steps up to MultiBeast and restarted the computer.
Won't restart- That's the problem.

So here is the details:
Whenever I start it up it says "nvidia rom patcher failed".
I then tried Linux to see if it was the computer.
Linux didn't work.
Swapped to a different graphics card (Mac incompatible) and Linux worked.
Swapped back to the Mac graphics card and nothing worked.

I would have concluded that the graphics card is bad but how come it worked the first time? Why did it work the first time?

When problems like this come up people usually suggest iBoot commands, I have tried a few. Could someone list or link me to all the possible iBoot commands.

Hey,

Try booting with the boot flag:

PCIRootUID=0

or

PCIRootUID=1

It seems that as you can see the error message the graphics card is working, try booting with the commands above and also with:

-v

and send a picture of the error displayed if one of the first commands don't work.

Did you try to load a different BIOS into that GFX card -

ALso we should know what your is ALL of the hardware specs you are using or have on hand - so update and fill in your signature block w the hardware infor like you see in mine...

If this is a Sandy Bridge CPU you will need to run update helper (if your CPU is a SB unit if its IB no) as well before you run Multibeast.

Something usefull about command line switchs one needs to know !

This is from 2008 some of these have changed but it still a good read,
http://news.metaparadigma.de/osx86-flags-and-parameters-for-darwin-bootloader-104/

Also did you run the system utilities in MultiBeast before re-boot.

My graphics card is a Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004KM49WO/

The rest of the specs. shouldn't matter because I am 99.99% sure it is a graphics card problem but here are the specs.

Motherboard: Intel DZ77RE-75K
Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K Processor 3.5 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I73770K
Graphics Card: At the top of the post

All help is really appreciated

You will need the iBoot for Ivy Bridge Cd

Your hardware is not compatable w the Apple OSX 10.6 standard kernel
this a problem for users of the newer CPU's (IB) and Chipsets (Z77 H77) on newer motherboards.

THe function of the iBoot CD for Ivy Bridge is to get your to install SL and then OSX 10.6.8 update and get you to the Apple App store to get the ML install file and make the Thumb Drive w UniBeast - so that you can boot off the Thumb Drive and install ML.

You will not be able to install the standard Boot loader that is part of the Multibeast configuration process - if you do not have network support for this MB then use MB to install the Network - So you will boot from the iBoot Ivy Bridge cd each time.

Suggest you disable the Audio and the FW on the Motherboard so as to limit any issues you have - again this process is for you to get your IB hardware to ML.

If you want or need SL then you will need to locate older hardware for this purpose.

So does this mean that it's not a graphics card problem?

And can you link me to the Ivy Bridge iBoot CD

woktov

here is the link you requested for the download -
http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=149

here is a link fom the main / Home page that covers this announcment -
http://www.tonymacx86.com/snow-leop...x-10-6-snow-leopard-ivy-bridge-based-pcs.html

read the link above ...

You do need to know that the old way of using Multibeast to get a Bootloader install will not work -
that you will need to boot from the special iBoot Ivy Bridge CD inorder to get this to run. This cd is the bootloader.

So the steps are rather basic - Assemble the PC - if you have a Cpu w HD3000 or HD4000 you do not need a GFX card
If you have an older GFX card you can use this ( but most of the time we suggest you remove then as they cause headaches for the OSX installer for 10.6:)
Have the Apple OSX Retail DVD 10.6.0 or 10.6.3 - set BIOS settings per the document iBoot and Multibeast.
Boot w iBoot IB CD. - insert Apple DVD - PF5 - select OSX install DVD - press space bar
add the command line -v PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No
Boot from OSX Install DVD - partitions / prep the disk for osx - then Install OSX using basic install (read iBoot and Multibeast doc link) http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/iboot-multibeast-install-mac-os-x-on.html
Reboot from iBoot Ivy Bridge CD. Get Desktop - move downloaded OSX 10.6.8 combo update to the desktop - install
Boot again from iBoot IB cd - desktop - using app object for App store connect - create account - buy - download ML - wait untill done
(this will take some time as Apple DL are slow)
Have a good quality USB 2.0 thumb drive - 8 GB or larger.

Visit the site for unibeast - www.unibeast.com - read /download utility and follow instructions - make Thumb drive from the ML item in you APp folder.

Then Boot from USB and install ML ... this is the link from TMX86
http://www.tonymacx86.com/61-unibeast-install-os-x-mountain-lion-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

Piece of cake....

Simple as Pie....

etc.

This utility iBoot for Ivy Bridge CD is only to get you to the App store so you can download ML and make the UniBeast Thumb Drive. To boot from and install ML.

Running OSX 10.6.8 on this hardware is not viable - if you need to have a working hack w OSX 10.6.8 then you will need to find more compatable hardware for this project.

I made the UniBeast installer drive and it didn't work, then I tried "PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnaber=No" that didn't work.

So what do I do now...

UniBeast doesn't work it sends the message "nvidia rom patching failed".

I tried "PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No" and that also doesn't work.
