Yup everyone was fine. It was a rough time, a lot of family issues. My uncle started the fire, just a lot of drama. No one got hurt though. If the new Mac Pro uses Ivy Bridge E or any version of LGA 2011 chips I may even go that route. I'm also hoping a ivy bridge e or haswell board by gigabyte with TB will be out when I do purchase.

The new Mac Pro is waiting on at least two new pieces of technology;

a)Thunderbolt 2 from Intel
b)New CPU - also from Intel

There are a number of rumoured new Haswell motherboards due out in the autumn that will have Thunderbolt 2 fitted as standard.
We will probably not know a great deal more about the new Mac Pro until it is released ~ October.

We do know a little more now - it is using a socket 2011 Xeon E5-2697 v2, but I can't find the xeon on any e-tailer site, so it looks as if Intel hasn't released it to the wild as yet.

My understanding of its reporting at the time of the WWDC was that the CPU was to be available later in the year - presumably around the same time as the Mac Pro becomes available.

This was reported the other day : http://www.macrumors.com/2013/08/14...ew-mac-pro-posts-impressive-benchmark-scores/
