Haswell-E + X99 Motherboard Temporary Guide - OS X 10.10

even when I enable overclock to 35 in bios I only see 33 in the macos. I'm not sure why

you are wrong. There is powermanagement which can adjust cpu multiplier ranging from 12 - 33. The problem is that the ratio 33 is 3300 Ghz so there is no turbo mode unless you overclock the base clock from 100 to 125 so the 33x125 is 4.09Ghz. Mine Haswell-E has this sort of PM. There is no need for anything special / no special kexts etc. The only problem is that you cannot overclock the multiplier beyond 33 because the PM in MACOS / Haswell-E will not use anything >= 33.
No PJALM is correct, "there is no CPU PM for x99/Haswell-E." Because you jerk around with bios settings and get a few p-states does not equal PM...

There is no CPU PM for x99/Haswell-E

like I said its not full PM (no turbo etc.) but it still is some PM.

This is just semantics and word games, by all means carry on with the nonsense…

you started this game by saying there is no PM for macos and haswell-e. Stop trolling man.

for the first time I have managed to get native audio (instead of noisy voodoo) on my asus x99-a (its the same like all x99 asus I suppose) - if anyone interested the procedure is described here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...amsung-4k-asus-x99-e-ws-clover-efi-sm951.html

briefly: download http://www.tonymacx86.com/attachmen...s-clover-efi-sm951-aug-25-install-10.10-5.zip

where you will only need fixes/Audio/Patched AppleHDA/AppleHDA.kext

and in multibeast see the screenshot in audio section in his PDF (http://www.tonymacx86.com/attachmen...s-clover-efi-sm951-yosemite-10.10.5-aug25.pdf)

I have gigabyte x99 board but I like your guide.Very detail and clear support asus board.
49 pages not easy to do that thank you for your hard work.

no all credit goes to the thread creator - the guide is not mine. I just reference it only.

Speedstep can cause problems with Asus X99 overclocking...i repeat, i suggest to try with Ez Tuning Wizard or in windows to use AI3 suite and one of the overclocking profiles.

I have no issues with speedstep with this specific overclocking profile which allows me to get at least some PM and decent performance. If you enable speedstep the overclocking will be overriden unless the overclock is based on multiplier and not base clock.
