Haswell-E + X99 Motherboard Temporary Guide - OS X 10.10

Well, so much for chipset support at this event. Guess we're waiting until WWDC. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I share your triple-brick-wall headache. I feel that I am just one step from getting my beast to be the hackintosh I need...

Also do you think that Apple is being passive-aggressive auto-correcting 'hackintosh' to 'mackintosh'? I mean that's not even how you spell macintosh!

If you are willing to try a few things, make a clone of your working system and try the following on the clone:

1) Add SSDT from manicharmonic
2) Enable P States in boot config
3) Disable XHCI in BIOS
4) Remove nullcpupowermanagement.kext

Try your benchmarks and see how it goes. If you get right performance, then try adding the genericusb kext to enable 3.0 and recheck stability and performance. It seems to work for my system but not for others. I get 26K geekbench 64-bit with 6 cores and 4.2 GHz overclock.

Thanks for this post. I followed all the appropriate steps and I'm able to turn volume up on my keyboard as well as down, and it seems like it's working, however I have no actual audio. I have an X99 E-WS. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Toleda,
I followed the steps, but I couldn't get my audio to work. When I try to run the "audio_cloverALC-100_v1.0.4d.command, it runs in the terminal, but says "no audio codec found".

My configuration is:
Rampage V Extreme
5960x
GTX 970
32GB
Clover bootloader

Kindly take a look at the attached ioreg, DPCI and system report screen shots, AppleHDA.kext and config.plist.

Sorry for now I had to use the voodooHDA.kext to get the audio to work (it's quite terrible).
Thanks a lot.

Try using the "old fashioned" HDAEnabler.kext instead of the HDAEnabler.dylib.
Same as guide:

  1. plus √ Optional Optional HDAEnabler > Audio ID: 1
HDAEnabler.dylib does not work on X99.
