Yes, that's the cable i was asking about, i apologize if i was not clear enough.

what i had planned on doing it is reusing it, but it wasn't clear how. Now i think i'm understanding. You've all helped a lot, i especially thank you for taking time to make a diagram for me. That'll be immensely useful, i planned on shortening the cable (depending on where i mount the caddy). Keep an eye out for a build log from me in the future, maybe

I would presume custom making a 2x molex to 8 pin would be easiest, for now?
It might not be too hard to reverse engineer it (keep in mind i've little idea what i'm doing) to go straight back to the pin that on my PSU...

Well in my Mac Pro and Power Mac G5 hacks I never used the Apple cabling as such. I have repurposed connectors in a big way on the SOS project for sliding drawer connection to the case. If you plan to do more of these projects, you may want to own the appropriate pin crimpers. And or use soldered wire splices along with heat shrink tubing.

I have enough stuff to build you an adapter if you want... it would just plug into two molex connectors...
